현대 의료는 의학의 각 분야가 전문화, 세분화가 가속되면서, 이비인후과학 영역에서도 더욱 전문적인 지식
이 요구되는 시대라 하겠습니다. 특히 이비인후과학에서의 이과학 및 이신경 분야는 매우 섬세하고 다양한
해부 생리학적인 지식을 요구하고 있으며 그 치료의 접근에 있어서도 첨단의 의술이 필요한 학문입니다. 연
세의대에서는 이 분야의 최신 지식과 전문 임상의들이 많은 경험을 서로 공유하고 나눔으로써 학문적 발전
과 고통 받는 환자들의 효과적인 치료를 도모하기 위하여 2002년부터 Yonsei Clinical Otology &
Neurotologic Symposium을 개최하였습니다. 여기서 발표된 훌륭한 내용들을, 이과학에 관심이 있는 여러분
들이 공유할 수 있도록 2002년부터 2005년까지 4년간의 주제들을 모아 “Update of Oto-Neurotologic
Practice”란 제목으로 출간하였습니다. Chapter는 External ear, Middle ear, Cochlear inner ear,
Vestibular inner ear 등 모두 4개로 구성되어 있으며, 각 분야의 전문가들에 의해 쓰여진 최신 지식이 수
록되어 있습니다. 아무쪼록, 본 책의 내용들이 독자들에게 적절하고 훌륭한 환자 치료로 이어지기를 소망합
