Jane Norman graduated in medicine from Edinburgh University in 1986.
She did the early part of her postgraduate training in Edinburgh, and
then moved to Glasgow where she is now Reader in Obstetrics and
Gynaecology. For the last 10 years, she has conducted research into
parturition, at both the clinical and basic science level. Ian Greer
trained in internal medicine and obstetrics and gynaecology in
Glasgow and Edinburgh. Prior to taking up his present post as Regius
Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Glasgow, he
was a clinical scientist at the MRC Reproductive Biology Unit in
Edinburgh with a research programme on parturition. He has a
continued interest in the mechanism of parturition and its
pharmacological regulation.
